Over the years, as the world evolved, so did we. Today, we are at the forefront of designing and delivering eco-friendly transportation options, including electric bikes, cargo bikes, and e-mopeds, tailored to solve real-world challenges and meet the needs of a modern, connected world.
Our products reflect our unwavering commitment to sustainability and innovation. From crafting bikes that empower delivery riders and small businesses to introducing the groundbreaking EcoHauler for recycling logistics, Lumala is redefining how mobility can positively impact lives and the planet. Whether providing the first bike to a schoolchild, powering an entrepreneur’s daily commute, or enabling sustainable urban transport, we believe in creating solutions that truly make a difference.
With a strong legacy rooted in Sri Lanka and a growing presence on the global stage, Lumala is proud to have exported products and a promise of trust and quality to Europe and beyond. Partnering with industry leaders like Hero and Tata, and working on innovative projects such as electric mobility for green logistics, we remain committed to leading the transition towards low-emission vehicles across Southeast Asia and the world.

Guided by our values of innovation, resilience, and responsibility, we continue to push boundaries and inspire a world where mobility is smarter, cleaner, and more accessible for all.
Join us on this journey as we pedal towards a better tomorrow.
A Bicycle simply uses 5% of the materials and energy of making a car, and being an excellent alternative that benefits the user, environment and the nation, that didn’t stop us from reducing our carbon footprint on this world!
We replaced Diesel and oils used for heating (painting, Phosphating etc.) with Eco-friendly briquettes using waste from the furniture industry that is closely situated to our factory.
About Us, History
We are a 5-decade-old establishment, with our brand Lumala originating from Japan, which means strength or power in Japanese, with the rise of the Yen, our Chairman, who dealing with Shinwa Lumala for over 10 years at the time, offered to purchase their brand, machinery and technology & start manufacturing bicycles in Sri Lanka.
We have been manufacturing bicycles for over 3 decades now, & exporting to Europe, Africa, and Asia-Pacific for over 2 decades. With a capacity to manufacture 2000 Bikes/day, we have just launched our Lycan brand of bicycles & e-bikes, hoping to promote it to international markets.Nations like the Netherlands went through a similar fuel crisis & today with a 17 M population, own over 24m Bicycles, and now are adopting electric bicycles that are helping them remove over 200,000 cars from their roads annually.
As per the statistics with a limited fuel quota in Sri Lanka, nearly 10 Mn litres of petrol was consumed by Motorbikes & 9 Mn litres of petrol was consumed by cars weekly.
With proper adoption of e-bikes, our country could save valuable forex, 370 rupees the cost of a litre of petrol will get you over 500+ km on an e-bike, and only 50 km on a motorbike, 30 km on a three-wheel
